The San Luis Obispo Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is seeking candidates for a $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to a qualified applicant seeking an undergraduate degree in engineering. Have a desire to obtain a degree in engineering from an accredited college or university (preference will be given for civil and environmental engineering majors). Overall GPA of 3.0

Wines and Steins Scholarship - Due April 15, 2026
Wines and Steins is a local organization dedicated to educating home wine and beer makers. Wines and Steins will be awarding a merit-based scholarship of $3000 [no financial information needed] to a SLO County senior graduating in 2026. Must be planning to major in Viticulture or Enology (2 or 4 year program accepted).

VDC 2026 Scholarship - Due April 6, 2026
Vaqueras Del Camino (VDC) is an all-women’s horse riding club. They give out a minimum of $500 each year to a student from San Luis Obispo County. Our scholarship is open to High School seniors, college students, and reentry students. This scholarship is a good fit for students involved with horses, 4-H, or FFA.

This scholarship is based on student leadership and community service, and is open to any high school seniors in South County. Central Coast Greenhouse Growers Association - Due May 1
High school seniors and currently enrolled college students who are children of CCGGA Grower Members are eligible. This includes students whose parents or guardians work for a member nursery. (Any major is acceptable for applicants in this category.)

San Luis Obispo County Cattlemen “JoAnn Arnold-Switzer” Scholarship - Due May 11
Candidates eligible for this scholarship must be attending or have graduated from high schools located in San Luis Obispo County, or be students attending Cuesta College or Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. An interview may be required of the applicants being considered for the scholarship.

Caltrans District 5 Employees Scholarship 2026 - Due May 16
Each year the employees of Caltrans District 5 in partnership with the California Transportation Foundation (CTF) offer scholarships to a high school seniors who plan to pursue a career in transportation. Three $1500 scholarships will be awarded this year. The field of transportation is broad and includes careers that Caltrans could potentially employ such as Engineers, Project Managers, Transportation Planners, Environmental Planners, Archeologists, Land Surveyors Mechanics, Electricians, Cultural Resources, Biologists, Computer Scientists, Administration, Human Resources, and many more. Caltrans hires in many areas that do not necessarily require a 4-year degree but require courses from a Community College or Trade School. We definitely encourage all students, in all academic ranges, who plan to pursue a career in Transportation to apply.

ELKS Association Vocational Grant - Due rolling throughout the year
The California-Hawaii Elks Association (CHEA) Vocational Grant is available for any students wishing to pursue a vocational/technical course to receive a certification, or 2 -year schooling leading directly to employment. Any eligible prospective student residing within the jurisdiction of the CHEA may apply. Student's planning to attend a 4-year college are NOT eligible. Must be a US citizen. Grants range from $500-$2000.

Silva Injury Law Community Scholarship - Due rolling (Applications received by June 1st will be considered for summer, received after June 1st will be considered for winter)
Not a lot of students apply for this one! To be eligible, applicants must: Be a high school senior attending a school in Stanislaus County, Merced County, Monterey County, or San Luis Obispo County. Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Demonstrate financial need and a strong commitment to community service and involvement. Plan to enroll in an accredited college or university in the United States for the upcoming academic year. Application Due: June 1st

California Association FFA State Scholarships - Deadlines Vary; see Listings
The California FFA Association with the help of generous sponsors will award over $85,000 in scholarships this year. In general, students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA and be pursuing higher education with a declared major in Agriculture.

Bank of the Sierra Asian Pacific Community Fund - Due April 20
Bank of the Sierra offers a Scholarship Program for low-income students in Fresno, Kings, Kern, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Tulare, or Ventura counties. All majors with no ethnicity requirements; proof of income will be required.

Central Coast Athletics Foundation Scholarship Program - Due April 27, 2026
The Central Coast Athletics Foundation (CCAF) Scholarship recognizes student-athletes who have demonstrated commitment, resilience, and leadership in youth athletics while making a positive impact on their community. Be a high school senior attending Arroyo Grande or Nipomo High School. Competed in Cross Country, Track and Field at AGHS or NHS. Volunteered at multiple CCAF events over the years & in the future. Academically in good standing, planning to enroll in a community college, trade school, accredited college or university.

The Vipin Agrawal Scholarship - Due June 1
The Vipin Agrawal Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to students from low-income and immigrant backgrounds. Criteria: Attending a CSU or UC school, AND went to a California high school; Pursuing an undergraduate degree in computer science, science, technology, engineering, or medicine. They or their parents immigrated to the United States; Annual household income of less than $75,000; A GPA of 3.0 or higher. The scholarship includes $2000 a year for all four years of the student’s college career.
